Bundled plugin: If you're using a b2evolution version that supports this plugin, it is already in your plugins folder. There is no need to download it. If it is not installed yet, simply click "Install new" in your plugin list.

The Generic ping plugin can be used to add a generic RPC ping service to your blog.

Plugin Settings

Generic Ping Plugin
  • Ping service URL: specify the ping service URL (e.g. "rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping" for Technorati)
  • Extended ping?: check to use weblogUpdates.extendedPing method instead of weblogUpdates.ping
  • Ping service name: optionally specify a name for the the plugin service
  • Ping service note: optionally add a note for the plugin service.

Note: the provided Ping-O-Matic Plugin supports pinging more than 15 common services, so you should use this one instead, if you don’t want to use a special service or only want to ping certain services.

Requirements

The plugin requires b2evolution 1.9 or newer.

Location

The Generic ping plugin gets shipped with b2evolution and can be found in /plugins/_generic_ping.plugin.php.
